William Maxwell

Partner

William’s brokerage specialties include commercial property acquisitions and dispositions on behalf of operating companies and investment firms as well as land assemblage expertise assisting local and national real estate developers. Additionally, William regularly performs tenant representation and landlord representation services, 1031 tax deferred exchange sales, lease negotiations and market analysis services for his clients.

Managing Partner / Broker in Charge

As Managing Partner, Brick has primary leadership over all aspects of Colony Commercial. His impact can be most felt on the brokerage side of the business, where he serves as the firm’s Broker-in-Charge. As one of the top producing brokers in the region for years, as recognized by CRCBR, his market knowledge is unsurpassed. A rare native to Charlotte, Brick has seen the city evolve and mature firsthand over the past few decades and is excited about where the market is headed in the future. Brick has extensive leasing and sales experience, and enjoys getting to know his clients, and helping to understand and meet their objectives.


Chad Markey

Broker

Chad brings a diverse skillset and extensive commercial real estate brokerage and operational knowledge to Colony Commercial. As a broker at Colony Commercial, Chad is charged with helping grow the company’s specialty commercial services platform while delivering best-in-class client centric solutions. 

Chad specializes in commercial property leasing, acquisitions, dispositions, and site selection on behalf of his clients. He has extensive experience working with private investors, family offices, developers, and large cap private equity investors. Prior to joining Colony, Chad worked at a national investment sales firm where he handled 1031 tax deferred exchanges, build-to-suit developments, and investment sales for his clients throughout the United States. Most recently, Chad was responsible for the asset management of a Charlotte industrial and retail portfolio on behalf of a local family office.  

A rare native Charlottean, Chad has witnessed the city’s evolution and growth firsthand and is excited about the future of the market. A graduate of The University of Georgia, in his free time, Chad can often be found cheering on the Bulldogs or exploring Charlotte’s ever-growing brewery and culinary scene with friends, family, and his Australian Shepherd, Goose.
